In Fiction Featuring Activists we look at how social justice movements and activists are represented in fiction–movies, novels, TV shows, and more. We take note of what makes for full and fair representation of folks fighting for justice, and of the myriad ways activists are marginalized, invisibilized, stereotyped, dissed and dismissed.

We explore the reasons for minimal, nonexistent and bad depiction of activists, and the effects this has on activists and on those who need them (in other words, everyone!)

And, most exciting, we look into efforts towards full and fair representation of activists in fiction, talk with authors who are writing in this genre (including yours truly, JB), and encourage creating fiction featuring activists in mutual support through our Facebook Group.
